Jenny and I have lived in this building, "Castle Arms," since May 2021.
We never suspected that the sign for our cross street, Howard, was a *sign*, i.e., a portent. But all this time it's pointed to what I'm now delighted to share: the next academic year will find me at Howard University, offering courses for the Department of English including my takes on Classical Myth ("Shapes Changed into New Bodies," focusing on metamorphoses) and Humanities I (a seminar on "Antiquity & Diversity" for first-year students)
Jenny deserves the lion's share of praise and thanks, for being just the most supportive partner over the long at-last-past job-market year. DC-area colleagues and other friends: looking forward to catching up at some point! ... perhaps some months after we've moved the 1600+ miles from San Antonio to DC.
